Josephine Cerulli (nee Parlapiano) died peacefully on November 14, 2018 at her home in Toms River, New Jersey. She was the daughter of Sebastiano and Vittangelo Parlapiano of New Providence and the sister of Louis Parlapiano, Dominic Parlapiano, Angelia (Parlapiano) Dasti and Jennie (Parlapiano) DelDuca.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Sunday November 18th from 6PM to 9Pm at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home located at 1012 Valley Road in Stirling, NJ. A funeral mass will be held on Monday November 19th at 10:00am at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church located at Bebout Ave., Stirling, NJ. Interment will follow at the St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery in Stirling.

Born in New Providence, Josephine was a longtime resident of Stirling before moving to Toms River, NJ in 1982 with her husband, Joseph. Growing up, Josephine worked in her family’s business raising and selling wholesale flowers. She started her career at the McGregor manufacturing facility in Summit, NJ. She also worked for Phillips Electronics and the Stirling Board of Education.

Josephine loved life, people and adventure. She was always going on day trips and testing the boundaries of retired life. She and her husband,
Joseph E. Curelli of Stirling, who died in 1990, were married for 42 years. Surviving are many nieces/ nephews, grand nieces/nephews, and great grand nieces/nephews. Also, a special thanks to her health aid and friend, Liz Orlando who took care of her for the last three years.
