Obituary for Dorothy Vincent (Groppi)

Dorothy Groppi Vincent passed away July 27, 2019 at her home, with her children beside her after a two decade health battle.

Born in the house she grew up in, she moved from Stirling in 1972 to Basking Ridge. Where she and her husband Charlie successfully continued their landscape contracting and firewood company, that they started in 1956. Stirling was always her true home.

To all that knew Dottie, she was not only an honorable business woman, she was a generous person and an animal lover. She lived her Italian heritage to the fullest and taught the next two generations to live the same.

She is predeceased by her parents Augusto and Anna (nee Zappi) Groppi, all her siblings, Eleanor, Lolly, Alex, and Jimmy.

Dorothy is survived by the light of her life, her granddaughter Laura MacBride of PA, daughter Joan MacBride and son Bobby Vincent both of Basking Ridge, and David Wade who will always be considered her second son.

The family would like to express gratitude to Dr. Michael Wax and his associates of incredible women. Through the 20 years, they became more than friends. The love, support and successes we shared will bond us always.

The family would also like to thank the amazing people at Atlantic Private Home Care and Atlantic Home & Hospice, who gave care and comfort so her children could grant her her wish to stay in her own home, in her own room and bed.

She will be missed by all who knew and loved her and will be honored every day by the ways she taught her children to live their lives.

Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Valley Memorial Funeral Home, Gillette, NJ, A private burial will take place at St. Vincent's Cemetery in Stirling, NJ.
