Obituary for Gregory James Healy
Gregory James Healy died Friday, November 1, 2019 at his home in Gillette, NJ with his family by his side. He was 63.
Greg was born in Jersey City, NJ on August 22, 1956, a son of the late Anna Louise (Steencken) and James George Healy Sr., living in West New York before moving to Gillette in 1962.
He was a graduate form Watchung Regional High School, and worked as an Installation Manager for Automatic Water Conditioning located in Bernardsville, NJ for 27 years before retiring in 2014.
Greg loved to play the drums, playing in multiple basement bands including the Bixby's and Blind Ambition. He had an extensive collection of Lionel Trains, and was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Somerset Hills.
Greg was pre deceased by his parents Anna Louise (Steencken) and James George Healy, Sr. and his brother James George Healy, Jr. who died in 1973.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn M (Burford) Healy, two sons Andrew Ivor James Healy, and Nicholas Anthony George Healy, two daughters, Katelyn Marianna Joyce Hartness and her husband James Milton Hartness, IV, and Joy Michelle Becker, and his granddaughter Amber Michele Becker. he is also survived by his two sisters, Patricia L Healy, and Beverly E. Healy, a sister-in-law Eileen F. Healy and her daughter Carol L. Healy.
A Memorial Visitation will be Friday, November 8, 2019 from 5-7 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ. Cremation was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Long Hill Township Rescue Squad PO Box 145, Gillette, NJ 07933
