Catherine A  Quinn (Grant)
Catherine Quinn, known to family and friends for her gracious manner and wry humor, died following a long illness on November 3, 2012.

While a mother of six, she pursued her education at Rutgers University, completing her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 1983 and Masters of Science in Nursing in 1991. She worked first in hospital nursing, then as a visiting nurse until she became the director of nursing at SAGE, an elder care agency. She was also a nursing instructor and generous mentor at both Seton Hall and Rutgers Universities for eight years.

Born Catherine Grant in 1933 in the Bronx, NY, over the years she was an active volunteer in her community and church. She enjoyed travel, books, spending time with family, and summering in Stockbridge, MA.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald Quinn of Summit, NJ, her six children, and her twelve grandchildren.

There will be a viewing on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Shrine of St. Joseph in Stirling, NJ, and a funeral mass at the Shrine on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 9:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, Catherine’s family suggests donations in her memory to Atlantic Hospice or the Shrine of Saint Joseph. The funeral is under the direction of Valley Memorial Funeral Home.
