Robert Paul Valnoski was born on October 29, 1948 and passed away on January 28, 2013 in Challis, Idaho.
Rob was the son of Michael and Mary Valnoski and was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Rob grew up in Gillette, New Jersey and attended Oratory Prep in Summit, New Jersey and William Penn College in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He was a graduate of the New Jersey State Police Academy in Sea Girt, New Jersey. Rob served 25 years on the Long Hill Township Police force, the community he grew up in, before retiring as a Sergeant in 1998.
His love of hunting first brought him west in the 1980’s. He first came to the Challis area on hunting trips. He had long planned to move west following his retirement and settled in the Challis area in 1999. Rob loved the outdoors and the friends he made along the way. Through his life his hunting adventures took him to Maine, Texas, Montana, Idaho, Missouri, Alaska, British Columbia and most recently he made two trips to Africa.
He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his daughter, Nancy Robertson of Runnells, Iowa, his sister Meg Valnoski, a brother Rick Valnoski, a niece Meghan Valnoski and a nephew Matt Valnoski all of Allentown, New Jersey.
