Antonia Acosta Van Deusen, 81
Antonia Acosta Van Deusen, died Thursday October 2, 2014 in Stirling, NJ after a long illness. She was 81. Toni was the beloved wife of Lawrence Van Deusen of Stirling, NJ. She was born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico and moved to New York in 1956 and was married in 1957. In 1971, the family moved to Carlstadt, NJ where she became an active member of the community. Upon retirement as a teacher’s aide, the Van Deusens moved to Manalapan, NJ, and then to Stirling, NJ. Toni was an avid gardener, a devoted wife, aunt, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Larry, and her children Katrina Van Deusen, Wendy Van Allen, Laurie Van Deusen, Lawrence Van Deusen and wife Eleana Van Deusen, Alexander Van Deusen and wife Caryn Van Deusen; and nine grandchildren; Eowyn and Crystar LaShell, Amber and Dylan Van Allen; Brielle, Kendall and Tristan Van Deusen; and Carlton Serna and Grayson Van Deusen, and an extended loving family in Puerto Rico and throughout the US. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday October 7, 2014 from 5 – 8 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home, Gillette, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to alz.org, for funding of Alzheimer’s Research.
