Obituary for Richard L Washkau

Richard L. Washkau
Richard (Dick) L. Washkau, 86, of Warren Township, N.J., beloved husband of Virginia (Jaeger) Washkau, passed away at home on Monday September 28th surrounded by his family.
Friends and family may visit on Thursday, October 1, 2015 2-4 and 7-9 at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home, 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, New Jersey 07933 (www.valleymemorialfuneralhome.net).
A service will be celebrated on Friday October 2, 2015 9:30 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the chapel at Our Lady Of The Mount Parish, 167 Mt Bethel Rd, Warren, NJ 07059 (http://olmwarren.org/directions).
Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery 145 Mount Airy Road Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 (http://holycrosscemeterynj.org/).
Richard and Virginia met in high school and were married for 63 years.
They moved to Warren Township in 1961 where they raised 7 children and were parishioners of Our Lady Of The Mount Parish in Warren.
Richard was an accountant at The Charles Hayden Foundation in NYC for many years.
Richard’s loves were his darling wife Virginia who cared for his every need,
his family for which he devoted all of his time and attention,
his gardens where he grew gorgeous flowers and vegetables,
his hobbies which included model airplanes and everything mechanical,
and his NY Rangers.
Survivors include his wife Virginia;
son Richard, and his children Alicia and Keira;
daughter Elizabeth Boassy and her husband Robert, and their children Robert Jr, Jennifer and Jeffrey;
daughter Linda Ferratti and her husband David, and their children Amy, Katie and James;
daughter Janice Schroeder and her husband John, and their children Michael, Christine and Daniel;
son Donald and his wife Mary, and their children Megan, Matt and Melissa;
son James, and his children James Jr, Julie and Jennifer;
son Kenneth and his wife Lisa, and their child Sarah;
and 10 great grandchildren.
Richard was predeceased by his sister Lois Cullen, and his brother William (Bill).
Richard's loving spirit and sense of humor will be greatly missed.
His legacy of love and caring will live in our hearts forever, and will be carried forward by the generations that follow.
