Obituary for Virginia E Washkau (Jaeger)

Virginia E. Washkau, 85, of Warren Township, N.J., beloved wife of the late Richard Washkau, passed away on Wednesday June 22nd after a brief illness.

Friends and family may visit on Monday June 27th 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Valley Memorial Funeral Home, 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, New Jersey 07933 (www.valleymemorialfuneralhome.net).
A service will be celebrated on Tuesday June 28th 10 AM in the chapel at Our Lady Of The Mount Parish, 167 Mt Bethel Rd, Warren, NJ 07059 (http://olmwarren.org/).
Interment will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery 145 Mount Airy Road Basking Ridge, NJ 07920 (http://holycrosscemeterynj.org/).

Virginia and Richard were married for 63 years.
They moved to Warren Township in 1961 where they raised 7 children and were parishioners of Our Lady Of The Mount Parish in Warren.
Virginia worked as a waitress at the Corner Cupboard in Basking Ridge before moving on to Selective Insurance of Warren where she was employed for many years.
Virginia’s legacy has always been her devotion to her husband and family.
Her passions were to cook great meals, to host family parties and to talk and visit with her daughters.
Her hobbies included exercise class, gardening and watching her NJ Devils and Pop’s NY Rangers.

Virginia was predeceased by her husband Richard, and her brothers William, Vincent, Eugene, Joseph and Charlie.

Survivors include son Richard, and his children Alicia and Keira;
daughter Elizabeth Boassy and her husband Robert, and their children Robert Jr, Jennifer and Jeffrey;
daughter Linda Ferratti and her husband David, and their children Amy, Katie and James;
daughter Janice Schroeder and her husband John, and their children Michael, Christine and Daniel;
son Donald and his wife Mary, and their children Megan, Matt and Melissa;
son James, Pamela and his children James Jr, Julie and Jennifer;
son Kenneth and his wife Lisa, and their child Sarah;
and 10 great grandchildren.

Virginia’s compassion and smile will be greatly missed.
Her legacy of love will live in our hearts forever, and will be carried forward by the generations that follow.
