Obituary for Christopher Charles Bowman

Christopher Charles  Bowman
Christopher Charles Bowman died Saturday, November 12, 2016 at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center.  He was 54.
Chris was born in Summit, NJ a son to Johanna (Moroney) and the late Charles Bowman, where he lived until moving to Long Hill Township.
He was a graduate of Summit High School, and was the owner and operator of C. Bowman Construction in Gillette, NJ for the last 28 years.  
Chris loved Long Hill Township and fought to keep the rural nature of the town, raising funds to add lighting and the score board at Kantor Park.  He donated time and funds to the Senior Center, Long Hill Township Police Department and the countless residence in Long Hill.  He was also a little league coach.   
He was pre deceased by his father Charles in 2005.
Chris is survived by his wife Lisa (Chaban) Bowman of 28 years, his daughter Kristin, his son Matthew, his sisters Julie Lackaye and her husband James, and Lisa Klaas and her husband Tom, a sister-in-law Enid and her husband Rick Farley, and his nieces and nephews Michelle, Emily and Maggie Klaas,  Caitlin, Kevin, and Thomas Lackaye and Jack and Nick Farley.
Visitation for Chris will be Wednesday November 16, 2016, 4-8 pm from the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 10:00 AM from St. Vincent de Paul RC Church, Bebout Ave., Stirling, NJ.  
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Trustees of Columbia University, Columbia University Medical Center, Milstein Hospital Building, 6N-435, 177 Fort Washington Avenue, New York, NY 10032.
