Obituary for Lorraine A Keister (Domenge)

Lorraine Adele Keister of Lakewood, New Jersey, died peacefully in her home on Thursday, March 16th, 2017. She was 72 years old. Lorraine was born on March 25th, 1944 to Marie Helene Gilman and Louis Francois Domenge in Brooklyn, New York. She lived on East 29th Street in Marine Park, attended Good Shepherd School, St. Agnes Seminary (high school) and attended Mount Aloysius Junior College in Pennsylvania. Advancing her education, Lorraine graduated from St. John’s University in Queens, New York, and received a BS degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. Her family relocated to East Northport on Long Island.
Lorraine worked as an elementary school teacher throughout her whole life beginning her career at Paumanok Elementary School in Dix Hills, New York and retiring after teaching 6 years of kindergarten from Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Lorraine loved teaching children, especially reading, and was often commended for her special gift of instilling a love of learning in all of her students.
Lorraine is preceded in death by her brother, Louis F., and former husband, Charles Keister; she is survived by her husband Eugene Ottaviano, and her 3 daughters: Amy Marie and her husband Jubin Pejman, Mary Jane Keister, and Elizabeth and her husband Steven Reddington, and 6 grandchildren: Juliette, James, Jonathan, Charles, Luke and Blake.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Vincent de Paul in Stirling, New Jersey on Wednesday, March 22nd 2017 at 10:30 AM. Interment will be held at St. Charles Cemetary in Farmingdale, NY at approximately 1:30PM.
