Obituary for Anne E. Galdieri (Ferrante)

Beloved matriarch and hometown treasure Anne E. Galdieri nee: Ferrante died Wednesday July 19, 2017 at her home in Bernardsville, NJ with her children by her side. She was 82.

Anne was born a daughter to the late Mary (Liccardello) and Anthony Ferrante on June 17th, 1935 in Morristown, NJ. She was raised in Bernardsville, and moved to New Vernon when she got married, moving back to her hometown Bernardsville in 1990. She graduated from the Academy of St. Elizabeth's High School and furthered earned a BA from the College of St. Elizabeth's.

The term 'matriarch' doesn’t truly capture Anne's dedication to serving as the center of love for her family. As wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, no one ever left her presence without knowing that she “loved them more”.

As we celebrate her legacy of love, we ask that you remember her dancing around the kitchen to a Frank Sinatra song surrounded by loved ones anxiously awaiting her delicious food to be served. Her gift of hospitality and famous Christmas Eve’s will be remembered by so many. She loved traveling with her husband Frank and was lovingly know as the candy grandmother.

Devout and faithful, she was a Parishioner of Christ the King in New Vernon where she was a member of their Regina Mundi Guild, and help host card parties and other fundraising activities. Anne lived her faith every day and was committed to service in her community in many different ways. She was a member of the New Vernon Fire Department Women's Auxiliary, volunteered at Bayley Ellard High School hosting many fund raisers and served as a Brownie Leader. She had also been a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Bernardsville, and St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Stirling, NJ.

Anne was pre deceased by her Husband Frank of 36 years in 1993, her daughter Rafaela in 1964, her brothers Jimmy and Connie, her sister Bette Saalmuller, and son-in-law Chris Daras, and her grandson Michael Daras.

Anne is survived by her 4 loving daughters, Mary Beth Daras of Basking Ridge, Lisa and her husband James Kenny of Bernardsville, Melanie and her husband Michael DePoortere of Bernardsville, and Tonianne Galdieri and her husband James of Piscataway. She had 12 grandchildren, Alexandra, Monica, Krista, Olivia, Grace, Nicholas, Anna Claire, Bill, Mary, Bobby, Lily and Hanna whom she lived for.
