Gerald Deering died, Thursday December 21, 2017 at RWJ Hospital in New Brunswick NJ, He was 77.
Jerry was born in Newark, NJ on August 31, 1940, a son of the late Mary (O'Neil) and Robert Deering. He lived in New Providence and Millington for 34 years before moving to Somerset 10 years ago. He was a graduate of Summit HS. and worked as a pipe insulator for Woolsulate before retiring.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Crisis stationed in Barbados. He was a member of the PACA Club.
Jerry is survived by his wife Janet( Yukniewicz) a son,Jeffrey and his wife Scarlett, and 2 Grandchildren Conner, Abigail . He is also survived by four sisters, Patricia Seip, Jane Deering, Ann Karr and Michaela Ehnis and his brother, Eugene.

Visitation will be Tuesday December 26, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. at The Valley Memorial Funeral Home, 1012 Valley Rd. Gillette, NJ
