Dominick "Mickey" LaRose died Sunday February 4, 2018 in Scotch Plains, NJ. He was 96.
Mickey was born in Sayre, Pa. He lived in Carbondale, Pa.before moving to Newark, NJ. He then resided in Stirling since 2000.
Mickey was a graduate of Carbondale High School. He worked as a Manager for A & P in Newark, NJ for over 40 years before retiring in 1983.
Mickey was a faithful communicant of St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Stirling,NJ and a former parishioner of St. James RC Church in Springfield, NJ.
Mickey was an avid sports fan. His greatest joy, however, was his family and the time that he spent with them. Mickey can be best described as a true Christian who was kind, generous and loving to all.
He was pre-deceased by his wife of 70 years, Evelyn (nee Ciccone) LaRose, and his daughter Barbara LaRose.
Mickey is survived by his son Anthony LaRose and his wife Mary Lynn, a daughter Janis and her husband John Steiner, a brother Anthony Barletta, 2 grandchildren Kenneth and Gregory, and his great grandson Cole.
Visitation will be Thursday February 8, 2018, 3-7 pm at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday February 9, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church, Stirling. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery., East Hanover, NJ.
