Andrew W. Compton passed peacefully away on Thursday evening, November 1st, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. He was 79.
He was born in Elizabeth, NJ the son of Florian and Agnes (nee Donald) Compton in Elizabeth, NJ in 1939.
Andy was a graduate of Nutley High School and attended classed at Fairleigh Dickinson University. He worked for over 35 years in finance for Prudential in Short Hills where he served as Senior Vice President.
Andy was a resident of Long Hill Township for nearly sixty years where he, with his wife raised their family. He was well know for the time he spent with the youth as their Little League coach. He was a charming and commanding presence who never hesitated to speak his mind sharing his love for family and friends more than anything else.

A World Class Angler, avid history buff and solid outdoors-man, he will always be remembered as a loving and generous husband, father , brother and friend.

Andy will be sorely missed, but surely never forgotten.
He is survived by his wife Roberta, his sons; Robert, Glenn and Clifford as well as his daughter-in-law Maria, grandsons Christopher and Harrison, his brother Donald and a host of dear friends.

Visitation will be Monday November 5, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 and Tuesday 9:30 AM - 10:00 AM from the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Bedminster Reformed Church Cemetery Route 202 Bedminster, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to The Raptor Trust in Meyersville, NJ.
