Obituary for Martha A Armenti (Cortese)

Martha A. (Cortese) Armenti died Friday June 7, 2019 at Morristown Memorial Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. She was 91.
Martha was born in Stirling, NJ on February 15, 1928 a daughter to the late Grace (Angiolilli) and Joseph Cortese where she lived her entire life.
She attended Bernards High School, and loved her work as the head cashier at the Watchung Hills Regional High School Cafeteria for 22 years retiring in 1996.
She was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Stirling, NJ, a member of the Long Hill Senior Citizens, where she enjoyed all the senior trips. Martha was given the privilege of being the Matron of the Long Hill Township Police Department, the former Passaic Township.
She loved to read, especially her Romance Novels, and would share the library with her family.
Martha was pre-deceased by her husband Jerry A. Armenti in 1998, her grandson Cliff Kowalczuk in 1987, and her 6 siblings. her 2 brothers Dominick and Tony, and her 4 sisters Florence, Rosina, Josephine and Filomina.
She is survived by her son Jerry and his wife Sheila, 2 daughters Kathleen A. and her husband Bill Faust and Geraldine and her husband Bill Kowalczuk, and 6 grandchildren Kyle and his wife Jacqueline, Kara and her fiance Chris Nevolo, Alec, Aidan, Gavin and Garett, 2 great grandchildren Cameron and Austin and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 11, 2019 from 4-8 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday June 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church, Stirling. Interment will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Stirling.
