Obituary for Johannes G "Hans" Fox

Hans (Johannes) George Fox died Wednesday July 3, 2019 at his home in Warren, NJ.
Hans, who was 85, was born in Kamp-Lintfort, Germany on October 13, 1933 oldest son to the late Franz Fox and Wanda Cäcilie Fox .

Hans came to the united states in the early 1950s joining his oldest sister who lived in New Jersey.
They were later joined by two additional siblings, with 2 siblings remaining in Germany.

Hans trained as a Mason in Germany and shortly after arriving in the US he became a builder and built homes in the New Providence and North Plainfield area. He lived in Roselle Park, Irvington, Mountainside and New Providence before moving to Warren in 1983. In 1970 he purchased The Presscrete Company and developed techniques and equipment for structural foundation repair and soil stabilization and over his lifetime created a thriving business. He holds a US patent for an internal combustion rotary engine.

Hans was a veteran of the United States Army. He was drafted in the late 50’s and sent back to Germany to serve. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Mount in Warren, NJ. Hans was a tinker at heart and loved the process of solving a problem. He enjoyed photography and was a camera collector.

He is survived by his wife Rita (Hannett) Fox, two sons, Brian S. and his wife Jennifer, and Gregory G. and his wife Tracy, his brothers Heinz (Germany), Norbert and his sisters Renate Bernhardt, Margaret Bender and Hilda Kersebaum. He had 4 grandchildren Meghan, Audrey, Amanda and Benjamin.

Visitation will be Monday July 8, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday July 9, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Mount Chapel in Warren, NJ. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, NJ.
