Obituary for James Denton Nagle

James Denton Nagle February 22, 1996 - April 2, 2020

Jim was born in Morristown, N.J. to James and Amelia Nagle. He grew up in Harding Township, N.J. He was a graduate of Madison High School class of 2014 where he participated in wrestling, track, and the school newspaper. Jim graduated from The Ohio State University in 2018 where he majored in English Literature with a minor in Education and Women’s Studies. He was a member of the ski club and enjoyed snowboarding in Ohio and Wyoming with his friends. Jim was currently working as an assistant aquatics facility manager for OSU Recreational Sports and also worked as a lifeguard and later crew chief when he was an undergraduate.

Jim was finishing a teacher licensure program at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. He was working as a student teacher at the Gahanna Middle School South in Language Arts, grade 7. Jim was the lead tutor for the Kids of Character after school program at St. Vincent’s Family Center in Columbus, Ohio. Jim will be remembered for his kind spirit, his beautiful smile, and his ability to connect with people.

Jim leaves behind his parents, James and Amelia Nagle, and his sister, Kathleen Nagle. Jim was a beloved grandson of Jeanette Denton and Dr. Ronald and Irene Nagle. Jim was predeceased by his grandfather, Dr. Richard Denton. Jim is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, and friends from Columbus, OH, Harding Township, and Madison, N.J.

Services and burial will be private. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the Kids of Character program at St. Vincent’s Family Center in Columbus, Ohio to honor Jim’s dedication to education, https://www.svfc.org
