Obituary for Audrey Elizabeth Roller

Audrey Elizabeth Roller died Saturday, April 11, 2020 at her home in Gillette, NJ. She was 92.

Audrey was born in Atlantic City, NJ, daughter of the late Catharine (Hartley) and Thomas C. Young Sr., living in Ventnor, NJ before moving to Gillette in 1950.
She was a graduate of Atlantic City High School, Class of 1945 and attended New Jersey College for Women on a full scholarship.
Audrey was a devoted member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild, taught Sunday School and led Junior Chapel, and was one of the first four women in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark to become a chalice-bearing Lay Eucharistic Minister in 1970. The Episcopal Diocese of Newark recognized her contributions with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2005.
Audrey was pre-deceased by her brother Thomas C. Young, Jr. in 2019.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Edward Roller; her 5 children: Karen Roundy (and her husband Kenneth), Nancy Chun (and her husband Eric), Carl Roller (and his wife Marjorie), Wendy Clarkson, and Linda Hill; her sister Catharine Young; and 9 grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Valley Memorial Funeral Home, Gillette, NJ. A memorial service will be held at All Saints’ Episcopal Church at a date to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to All Saints’ Episcopal Church, Millington, NJ or to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Program of BrightFocus Foundation in Clarksburg, MD.
