Obituary for Anthony Joseph D'Onofrio

Anthony Joseph D'Onofrio died on April 10 at Doylestown Hospital, PA. He was 90 years old.
Tony was born in the Bronx, New York to Joseph and Josephine D'Onofrio. He lived in Eastchester, Armonk and Somers, NY before moving to Doylestown, Pa 6 1/2 years ago.
Tony was a graduate of Fordham University with a degree in pharmacy and a graduate of Long Island University where he earned a Masters Degree. He was an active parishioner of St. Joseph Parish in Somers, NY.
As a teenager, Tony was a ball boy for the New York Yankees and loved participating in sports. He served in the Army during the Korean War as a pharmacist at Walter Reed Hospital, taking care of the wounded.
Tony had a long and successful career in medical advertising at William Douglas McAdams in New York City. During this time he received many awards and recognition from his peers. He and his beloved wife Anne, spent much of their free time in doing volunteer and mission work.
He was also volunteer at Covenant House for many years, as well a hospice volunteer.
In 1978 he completed the NYC Marathon.
Tony is preceded in death by his wife Anne. He is survived by his 3 daughters Joanne and her husband Mark Diluigi, Diane and her husband Thomas Kalmbach, Lora Jean and her husband Christopher Lenzsch, and one son Joseph and his wife Mary, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Tony loved being with his family, his friends, and catching bluefish on his boat in the Long Island Sound. He would always be seen with his Yankees hat on. He believed if you put faith first, then family, everything else will take care of itself.
