Obituary for Raul Galvan
Raul Galvan passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, NJ. He was 54.
Raul was born in Cuzco, Peru on May 19, 1965 the son to the late Julia (Arias de Galvan) and surviving Fortunato Galvan Vega.
He immigrated to the United States in 1981 at the age of 16, having lived in various cities of Hudson County for the past 38 years. He became an American Citizen in 1998. Raul attended high school at Ricardo Palma at Lima, Peru, and worked as a butcher for Inserra Supermarket (Shoprite) in Mahwah, NJ for the last 25 years.
He was an avid soccer fan both playing and watching his favorite teams.
Raul is survived by his daughter Michelle, and two sons Emiliano and Jacobo.
He is also survived by nine siblings, Elsa Galvan, Julio Cesar Galvan, Sonia Galvan, Maribel Galvan, Silvia Isabel Galvan, Amelia Beatriz Galvan, Luis Angel Galvan, Susana Mercedes Galvan, Fernando Galvan, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
A Virtual Visitation will be on Monday May 18, 2020 from 6-8 PM with a 7:30 PM bilingual prayer service officiated by Fr. Dennis Berry from the Shrine of St. Joseph in Stirling, NJ by a Zoom invitation. A funeral service will be held at a later date. Raúl Galván falleció el Jueves 7 de Mayo del 2020 en el hospital Holy Name Medical Center en Teaneck, NJ. Tenía 54 años.
Raúl nació en Cuzco, Perú el 19 de Mayo de 1965, hijo de la fallecida Julia Arias de Galván y le sobrevive el sr. Fortunato Galván Vega.
Emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1981 a la edad de 16 años, habiendo vivido en varias ciudades del condado de Hudson durante los últimos 38 años. Se convirtió en ciudadano estadounidense en 1998. Raúl asistió a la escuela secundaria Ricardo Palma en Lima, Perú, y trabajó como carnicero para Inserra Supermarket (Shoprite) en Mahwah, NJ durante los últimos 25 años.
Era un ávido aficionado al fútbol tanto jugando como viendo a sus equipos favoritos.
A Raúl le sobreviven su hija Michelle, y dos hijos Emiliano y Jacobo.
También le sobreviven nueve hermanos, Elsa Galván, Julio Cesar Galván, Sonia Galván, Maribel Galvan, Silvia Isabel Galván, Amelia Beatriz Galván, Luis Angel Galván, Susana Mercedes Galván, Fernando Galván, y numerosas sobrinas, sobrinos, primos, familiares y amigos.
Una Visita Virtual ser realizara el Lunes 18 de Mayo del 2020 de 6-8 PM con un servicio de oración bilingue de 7:30 PM oficiado por el P. Dennis Berry del Santuario de San José en Stirling, NJ por una invitación de Zoom. Un servicio funerario se llevará a cabo en una fecha posterior.
