Louis J. Ferraro Jr. died Friday July 3, 2020 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ. He was 73.
Louis was born in Summit, NJ on March 21, 1947 a son to the late Carmel (DelDuca) and Louis J. Ferraro Sr., and was a life long resident of Long Hill Township.
He worked as a teacher for the Chatham Board of Education for over 42 years before retiring, and continued as a substitute teacher. He also worked at his family's business Hall's Garden Center and always had a smile to share at the register and doing anything needed to assist.
He graduated from Watchung Hills Regional High School, and received his BA and Masters from Kean College.
Louis was a devout catholic and a communicant at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Stirling.
He had a love for crafts, gadgets, puzzles, and flowers, especially orchids, and loved his Thunderbird, and BMW. He was always the family photographer capturing all the best moments to share. He had a love of travel with his friends and family, and maintained his wit, care and concern for all even through his illness.
He is survived by his sisters MaryLou Hall, and Rose Ann Pasquarello, Brother -in-law Louis Pasquarello, and his nieces and nephews: Thomas Hall and his wife AnnMarie, Kenneth Hall and his wife Holly, Suzanne and her husband Michael Honey, Allison and her husband Robert LaHoff, and Andrea McGuire. Great Nieces and Nephews: Donovan, Patrick and his wife Cyndy, Elizabeth, Jacqueline, Ryan, Olivia, Brandon, Dylan and Austin.
Visitation will be Tuesday July 7, 2020 at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Stirling from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday,. July 8, 2020, 10:30 AM at the Church.
