Angelo Cerulli died Saturday, August 22, 2020 at his home in Stirling, NJ. He was 100.
Angelo was born in Stirling, NJ on July 20, 1920, a son of the late Assunta (Carlone) and Frank Cerulli, Sr. and was a life long resident of Stirling.
He worked as the Maintenance Supervisor for the Passaic Township School System and prior employment included working as the Assistant Chief at the Federal Firefighter General Service Administration from 1948-1974.
Angelo was the oldest current member of the Stirling Fire Company in Stirling, NJ joining in 1941. He served as Vice President, Captain and as Chief from 1962-1971, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award in 1969 and was a Life Member of the Relief Association.
He was a WWII Army Veteran serving from 1942-1946 received the American Service medal, Philippines Liberation Ribon, Good Conduct Medal, WWII Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal and the Distinguished Unit emblem.
He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Stirling, NJ
Angelo loved to play baseball grewing up and was an avid Yankee Fan.
He was pre-deceased by his wife Elizabeth Ann (Granata) Cerulli in 2013.
Angelo is survived by his son Eugene S. Cerulli, a daughter, Debra S, wife of David (2019) Moscara and his granddaughter Melissa and her husband Max Frater
Visitation will be Friday August 28, 2020 from 5-8 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 29, 2020 at 10:00AM at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Stirling. Burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Stirling.
