It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Jack Tunison Sr. He was 91 years old.
Jack was raised in Highland Park and graduated from HPHS. Jack served in the Navy and was a member of the Navy Basketball Team. He also attended the FBI Academy. He spent his career as a Highland Park Police Officer and retired as the departments Captain
Jack loved the shore and sports. He was a loyal Giants, Yankee, Rutgers and Duke fan. He loved to tell jokes and stories and was joyful when his stories resulted in a smile or laugh.
He moved to Gillette, NJ with his wife, over 37 years ago. They shared many of the same interests, but what Jack enjoyed most was his time spent with surviving wife Janet (Lamson) Tunison.
Jack leaves behind daughters Faye and Tammy of Arizona, a son Jack and his wife Amy of South Brunswick, Kathy and her husband George of Avenel, stepson Joe and step-daughter Joann both of Gillette, and his grandchildren James, Emily, Jesse, Rebecca, Ellie, Ryan, Co, and sean. He is also survived by his great granddaughter Hailey.
