Obituary for Judie Weber
Judie Weber, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandma passed away peacefully on Friday December 18, 2020 at the age of 100.
She was born Judie Novak on May 27, 1920 in St. Louis, Missouri. Her family moved to New Jersey where she became a life-long resident living in Newark, Maplewood, and Springfield N.J. before moving with her husband Frank Weber to Rossmoor in 1970 and spending the last 50 years as a resident of Monroe Township.
She graduated from Arts High School in Newark N.J., (“The Nation’s First Public High School for the Arts”.), and was later recognized by her graduating class for planning & coordinating their 50th reunion.
Her love for collecting antiques led her to opening up her own Antique shop in Union ,N.J. She was an avid quilter and enjoyed sewing. Her handmade quilts and doll clothes she made for her grandchildren are considered family heirlooms. Judie and her husband Frank were known for taking many “road-trips” to visit grandkids who were in the Navy or attending college. After moving to Rossmoor she volunteered at the local library, participated in Gardening, Stamp and other Clubs. Until her passing she was the oldest resident in the community.
Judie was known for her generosity, sweetness, delicious mushroom soup, sharp wit, great advice, style, loyalty, strength and independence. She was blessed with a wonderful son, Ronald Stanek, who with his wife Sandra took exceptional care of “Ma” during her last few years.
Judie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank R. Weber and grandson Keith Stanek( formally of Winston Salem, North Carolina). Judie is survived by her son Ronald Stanek and daughter in law Sandra Stanek of Meyersville, New Jersey, her grandson Cary Stanek (Phyllis Lopes and Jack Gokey of Bridgewater), granddaughter Jennifer Stanek (Thomas Johnson of South Orange) and great granddaughters Alexandra Stanek, Robyn Stanek, Lauren Stanek, Casey Stanek and Riley Johnson who lovingly referred to her as “Juju”. As well as extended dear friends who were like family that she loved as her own.
Arrangements are under the supervision of the Valley Memorial Home, all services at this time are private. A celebration will be held in the spring to honor her legacy.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the SECU house in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
