Carol M. Wied (Osbourne) died Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Summit, NJ. She was 73.
Carol was born in Morristown, NJ on January 26, 1947 a daughter to the late Beatrice (Hink) and Norman Osbourne, living in Randolph. Carol and her husband moved to New Providence where she raised her family, and spent many years in Stirling, before recently returning to New Providence.
She worked for the Berkeley Heights Board of Education as a Bus Driver and messenger for many years before retiring in 2016.
Carol was a sun lover and enjoyed many beach trips over the years, including summer vacations spent in Manasquan. She also enjoyed her occasional trips to Atlantic City to play the slots with her beloved husband. Carol and Walt or “W” as she affectionately referred to him hardly spent a day apart. She loved spending time with family and friends, talking over coffee at the kitchen table or over the phone. But by far, Carol’s greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was her children and grandchildren. She was a larger than life presence and devoted her life to her family. She would do anything for the people she loved and she was loved by many. Carol along with her infectious laugh and easy smile will be missed by all who knew her.
She was pre deceased by her sisters Lois, Norma and Joyce. Carol is survived her husband of 52 years Walter D. Wied, her children Richard and his significant other Olivia, David and his wife Barbara, Jeffrey and his wife Kimberly, and Michelle and her husband Jeff Scotti. She is also survived by her grandchildren Zachary, Connor, Hannah, Nathan, Jacob, Lucas, Hailey, Anthony, Miranda, Samantha and Riley. In addition to family she was survived by many life long friends.
