Obituary for Marino Garcia

Marino Garcia died peacefully on February 9, 2022 at Center for Hope Hospice in Elizabeth, NJ. He was 94.

Marino was born in Madrid Spain on September 3, 1927 a son to the late Guillerma (Anton) and Marino Garcia where he lived, moving to Stirling, NJ before living in Califon with his son in June 2021. He would travel with his wife back and forth from Spain to New Jersey to spend time with his family whom he cherished.
He worked as a Supervisor of Maintenance at the Institute of Advanced Study in Princeton, NJ for over 10 years before retiring in 1992.
Marino loved soccer, played in recreational leagues and cheered for his favorite team, Real Madrid. He was an avid reader, and a history buff. Marino also loved a good glass of wine especially with his dinner amongst family and friends.

He was predeceased by his 2 sisters: Angeles Garcia in 2021 and Margarita Garcia in 2017.

Marino is survived by his wife Moreau Delmas Garcia of 66 years, a son Eric Garcia and his wife Kathleen, and his 3 grandchildren Denise and her husband Andre Rivers, Anthony and Eric Garcia.

Visitation will be Friday February 11, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church, 250 Bebout Ave., Stirling, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, February 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Church. Cremation is private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ.
