Obituary for Michele Urbanski (McGuire)

Michele (McGuire) Urbanski died Thursday, June 23, 2022 at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ. She was 81.

Michele was born in Sherman, Texas on January 30, 1941, a daughter to the late Mary (Walden) and Howard C. McGuire. The family moved to New Providence in 1950, where Michele grew up. She was a graduate of Summit High School and received an Associates Degree from Lyons Institute of Medical Technology. She married Martin D. Urbanski in 1963 and moved with him to Meyersville to start a business and raise a family.

She and her husband established a well known antique business, The Trading Post, in Meyersville . Besides the antique business, Michele was a homemaker and worked as a bus driver for Dealaman Enterprises for over 27 years before retiring. She was predeceased by her husband Martin D. Urbanski, who died in 1995. After retiring Michele moved to Ringwood, NJ where she lived for 12 years.

Michele believed in community service and was very active in Long Hill Township, and was elected to serve on the Township Committee (1995-2000). She was a member of the Woman's Club in Long Hill, the Grange and Friends of Long Hill Township. She loved working each year on the local Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in Meyersville.

Michele is survived by her two sons, Marc D. Urbanski and Candace of Ringwood, NJ, and Myles D. Urbanski and Robin of Arlington, VT, sister, Kathy McGuire, of Bethesda, MD and brother Howard "Mac" McGuire of Durant, OK, and grandchildren, Kooper, Griffin, Connor and Evan.

Visitation for Michele will be Tuesday, June 28. 2022 from 6-8 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ and Wednesday from 9 - 10 AM followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Meyersville Cemetery, Meyersville, NJ. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Long Hill Township Police Department CRT Domestic Violence Team.
