Kathleen Ann Moran died Friday, September 9, 2022 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ. She was 89.
Kathleen was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 29, 1932 a daughter to the late Catherine (Noonan) and William Winters, where she lived until moving to Scotch Plains, NJ 30 years ago.
She worked at several banks in Brooklyn, NY beginning at 15 years old before raising her family as a homemaker in Brooklyn and Scotch Plains.
Kathleen was a faithful parishioner of St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains, NJ. She loved to read, knit and watch her favorite sports, including football, golf, and basketball. She also adored her time as a faithful and energetic babysitter and loving grandmother to her four granddaughters.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert J. Moran, Sr., a Hall of Fame basketball player from Providence College. She was also predeceased by her siblings: Robert and Gerard Winters, Jean Schneider, Miriam Grogan, and Rose Marie Gavagan.
Kathleen is survived by her two sons Robert J. Moran, Jr., and Timothy G. Moran and his wife Nancy, a daughter Colleen A. and her husband Anthony Troiano, and four granddaughters, Lauren and Jacqueline Troiano and Samantha and Madison Moran.
Visitation will be Monday, September 12, 2022 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home, 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Bartholomew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 2032 Westfield Ave, Scotch Plains, NJ on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 10:00 AM.
