Obituary for Roberta Ann Strouse (Comiskey)
On Saturday, September 10, 2022, Roberta Ann Strouse, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother died at age 87.
Roberta was born in Irvington, NJ but spent most of her life in Stirling, where she raised her family. She was married to Frank Strouse in 1952 and they had three children, Robert, Barbara and Judith. Roberta took great pride in the domestic arts, having the most organized and clean house and the sharpest ironed creases.
She was special to many and she loved phone calls with her friends and going to Atlantic City with her girlfriends. Roberta was an eternal optimist and always saw the good in people and was quick to offer a compliment. She was generous, a great listener and put others before herself.
Roberta is preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her son, Robert, her daughter, Judith and four sisters, Elaine Trost, Ruth Chrenko, Jane Holman and Judith Cave. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Barbara Rodman and her husband, Ted, granddaughters, Barbara Anderson and her husband, Aidan, and Holly Schaffer and her fiance, Anna Pitzlin, sister Barbara Hedden and her husband Robert, four great-grandsons, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17 at noon at Valley Memorial Funeral Home. 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ.
