Eugene “Gene” James Starr, 59, of Magnolia Springs, AL, formerly of Millington, NJ, passed away peacefully after a long personal life struggle. He was born in Kent, CT to William and Ruthann (Emerson) Starr on May 13, 1963. He had been a mechanical designer at Sigma Design, in Middlesex, NJ for 28 years. He moved to Alabama in 2017. One of Gene’s greatest joys was serving on the Milllington Fire Dept. where he was a life member and proudly served as Fire Chief for several years as well as serving on many committees.

He is survived by his dear friend and ex-wife, Cindy Starr of Bedminster, NJ and his children Connor and wife Joanna of Rockaway, NJ, Olivia of Bedminster, NJ and Adam St. Pierre of Racine, Wisconsin. His brothers, Peter and wife Tammy of Hermon, ME, Matt and wife Ane of Kent, CT, Preston and wife Meg of Bradford, NH, his sister Genny and husband Bobby of Foley, AL and his devoted mother, Ruthann Schindler and husband, James of Magnolia Springs, AL. He was predeceased by his father William Starr.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2-4PM, Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Valley Memorial Home 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ 07933
