Obituary for Martha Sophie Faas (Odermatt)
Martha S. Faas died peacefully at her home in Basking Ridge, NJ on December 21, 2022. She was 92.
Martha was born in Switzerland on September 28, 1930, a daughter to the late Julia (Myers) and Emil Odermott where she lived before immigrating to the United States and has resided in Basking Ridge since 1965.
She was educated in Switzerland and graduated form Wiford Beauty Academy in New York City.
Martha was the owner and operator of Martha of Switzerland Beauty Shop at 210 Central Avenue at Center Street, Orange, NJ for over 20 years before retiring to care for her children and family.
She loved to tend to her gardens both vegetables and flowers, enjoyed travel and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed rounds of golf at the VA Golf Course.
She was pre deceased by by her Husband Gottlieb A. Faas who died in March of 2002 and 10 siblings.
Martha is survived by her 3 daughters Blanche E. Hepplewhite, Gwendolyn M. Logan and her Husband Andrew Logan , and Jacqueline C. Faas, a brother Walter Odermatt, 2 sisters Margrit Niederberger-Odermatt and Marlies Weber-Odermatt, 6 grandchildren: Lauren, Eric, Alana, Curtis, Gregory and Brian and 2 great grandchildren.
