Obituary for AnnaMaria Chiappa
AnnaMaria Chiappa passed away peacefully Sunday, February 5, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital - Anderson Campus in Easton, PA. with her family at her side. She was 86.
AnnaMaria was born in New York City, to the late Louisa (Bosch) and William Fiegener on August 25, 1936. She moved to North Plainfield, NJ at the age of 9 and lived in Stirling, NJ until moving to Bethlehem, PA 20 years ago. She has lived in Nazareth, PA for the last year.
She attended Mount Saint Mary's Academy in Watchung, NJ.
Always working, she began as a lunch aid at Central School in Stirling, drove a school bus for Dealaman Enterprises, was a Home Health Aid for Patient Care in NJ, worked for ShopRite Floral Department in Stirling and most recently worked in transportation at Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth, PA. AnnaMaria was also very active in the Girl Scouts of Long Hill (Passaic Twp) and volunteered as a Troop Leader for many years. She was active at St. Vincent de Paul Church while living in Stirling, playing the organ and singing in the choir. She also sang in the choir at St. Anne’s church in Bethlehem.
AnnaMaria was a charter member of TOP first aid Squad, now Long Hill Township First Aid Squad and was an EMT. She enjoyed bowling, knitting/crocheting, reading, gardening, doing crossword puzzles, and playing board games. She also loved traveling with her husband and loved the outdoors.
AnnaMaria was pre-deceased by her husband Alfred L. Chiappa in 2003, and her 6 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her two daughters, Diana and her husband Thomas Christian, Daria J. Chiappa and her husband Dale Brubaker, a son Alan R. Chiappa and his wife Tracy, four grandchildren, Thomas Christian and his fiancé Renee, Michelle and her husband Alan Carcifi, Brendan Chiappa and Brianna Chiappa. She is also survived by her great grandchildren Giovanni Carcifi and Dimitri Christian.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 4-8 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home, 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 9, 2023, 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church, 250 Bebout Ave., Stirling, NJ. Burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Stirling. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Long Hill Twp. First Aid Squad.
