Obituary for Angela Calleo (D'Occhio)
Angela (D'Occhio) Calleo died Thursday, August 3, 2023 with her family by her side in her home in Gillette, NJ. She was 57.
Angela was born in Summit, NJ on January 2, 1966 a daughter to Maddalena (Iannella) and the late Libero D'Occhio, living in Berkeley Heights and Stirling, NJ before moving to Gillette in 2005.
She was a graduate of Summit High School class of 1984. She then began her career at Burgdorff Realtors in accounting before working as a Title Insurance agent for many years. However, her dedication and love for her family was her main focus.
Angela was a devote catholic and a parishioner of St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Stirling, NJ. She was a member of the Alter Rosary Guild, and enjoyed Bible Study. She was an avid reader, enjoyed exercise at the YMCA performing yoga, walking and travel. She was a fabulous cook making classic Italian meals and spending time in her gardens .
Angela is survived by her husband Darren Louis Calleo Sr., her children Darren L. Calleo, Jr., Gina Calleo, and John Calleo. She is also survived by her mother Maddalena D'Occhio, and her sisters Susan and her husband Arthur Bontempo, Lena Heinl, Lisa and her husband Jeffery Fricke, and Sandra and her husband Michael Magaldo, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 4 - 8 PM at St, Vincent de Paul RC Church, 250 Bebout Ave., Stirling, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday 10:00 AM at the Church. Mass can be witnessed with a live stream at https://stvincentschurch.org/ Entombment will follow at St. Teresa Cemetery and Mausoleum in Summit, NJ. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Stirling Fire Company or the Long Hill Twp First Aid Squad.
