Phyllis M. (Falzarano) Elmi passed away, Thursday, May 11, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 85.
Phyllis was born at her home on Railroad Avenue in Stirling, NJ to the late Rose Ester (Ruggerio) and Augustino Falzarano on September 3, 1937. She lived in Stirling until she married John Elmi on January 21, 1956. They resided in Bernardsville for 45 years and moved to Arizona in 2003 where she remained until her passing.
She was a graduate of Morristown High School. She managed her husband John’s plumbing and heating company. She was employed by the Long Hill Township (Passaic Township) Police Department as a secretary for many years.
Phyllis always dressed to impress. She loved fashion, jewelry and was an extremely stylish and put together lady. She loved going to garage sales with her brother George, gambling in Atlantic City, traveling with her family to Bermuda, Scotland, Spain and numerous other locales worldwide. She enjoyed the occasional round of golf. Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Phyllis knew when she was perturbed-that one eyebrow would raise and you knew it was time to change the subject or run for the hills! Phyllis loved Fox News and spent hours discussing politics and world events with her brother and confidant Vincent. In recent years Phyllis and her husband John spent the summer months with her brother Robert and his family in New Jersey. She enjoyed sitting at the dining room table talking with family and friends while enjoying a Chivas Regal on the rocks.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband John J. Elmi in 2017 after 61 years of marriage, her daughter Laura Elmi, and siblings Anna Karrow, Nicholas, Augustine and Vincent Falzarano.
Phyllis is survived by her brothers George Falzarano, Robert Falzarano and his wife Patricia and Bartholomew Falzarano and his wife Marie. Phyllis is also survived by her daughter Lisa Comella and her grandchild Ryan as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
