Obituary for Ethel E Ross (Garthwaite)
Ethel E. Ross of Gillette died Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at her home in Gillette, NJ. She was 92.
Ethel was born in Elizabeth, NJ a daughter to the late Julia (Hellabrandt) and Everett Garthwaite, living in Union, NJ before moving to Gillette over 40 years ago. She worked as an executive Chauffeur at AT&T for over 21 years before retiring in 1998.
Ethel was a big part of the Long Hill Township community and served as an EMT for the Long Hill Township 1st Aid Squad for over 40 years aiding and responding to people in need. She was loved by all who knew her. Ethel also enjoyed her time in Atlantic City with her family and friends.
She was pre-deceased by her husband William in 1991, her son Gary and her brother Everett.
Ethel is survived by her 3 sons Mark and his wife Paula, Bradley and his wife Doreen, and Wayne and his wife Maureen. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Aimee (Ross) and her husband Bradford Capinjola, Timothy Ross and his wife Sami, Dan Ross, Kevin Ross, Bradley G. Ross, Jenna (Howell) and her husband Eddie DeMarie, three great grandchildren Madison and Noah Ross, and Cirilla Moon Capinjola, a sister-in-law Tootsie, and her beloved cats Boo Boo, Chat-N-Berg, Olive and Sylvester, and her cousin Larry and his wife Stephanie.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 4-7 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ.
