Obituary for Dolores M Rose (Pera)
Dolores M. (Pera) Rose died Wednesday. August 23, 2023 in Morristown, NJ. She was 85.
Dolores was born in the City of Passaic, NJ, a daughter of the late Ella (Baltozar) and Charles Pera on January 22, 1938. She lived in Bayonne and Middlesex, NJ before moving to Warren, NJ in 1970.
She worked as a psychiatric nurse at Graystone Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains, NJ for many years. She also worked as a Visiting Nurse in Home Health care for people of all ages.
Dolores volunteered for the Raptor Trust in Millington, NJ and was a generous contributor to many, some may say all, charitable organizations. She was an accomplished artist in sculpting, painting, wrote poetry and children's novels. She loved music and would write her own songs and sing them proudly. She was also a lover of animals raising cats, dogs and even doves that had free range of her home. Not only was her home welcome to animals, but Dolores would welcome any person in need into her home as well.
She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of the Mount RC Church in Warren, NJ.
She was pre deceased by her former husband Edward M. Rose, her son Chuck Rose and many siblings.
Dolores is survived by her son Scott E. Rose and his wife Dorothy, a daughter Suzanne and her husband John Scarinzi, and her grandchildren Sage, Ciara, Samantha, Shane and Cole, Alyssa and Jake, and a great grandchild on the way.
Visitation will be Sunday August 27, 2023 from 4-7 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Road, Gillette, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, August 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Cremation is private.
