Obituary for Judith Vreeland (Simon)

Judy Vreeland, 79, of Bedminster, the wife of Wiliamson Vreeland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2023.
Born, September 21, 1944, in Montebello, CA, she was the daughter of Alexander and Elsa Simon.
Judy graduated from Summit High School and Valparaíso University. She also did graduate work at Rutgers University.
Early in her career Judy worked as a social worker for the State of New Jersey and as an insurance adjuster for Kemper Insurance Company. After her daughter was born, she worked as a beauty consultant for Avon Corporation. Later Judy suffered with Bipolar Disease and wrote a book, The Day I Fired My Psychiatrist, which has been and continues to be helpful to many people.
Family was very important to Judy. She was a terrific cook, and her homemade coffee cake and blueberry pie were especially cherished and still form happy family memories. The family also bonded during summer vacations at Long Beach Island.
She was a long-time member of Somerset Hills Lutheran Church where she was active in Bible study, Stephens Ministry, and the choir.
She is survived by her husband, Wiliamson, her daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Ronald Killian, and grandchildren, Abigail and Alexander Ruffner and Casey and Tyler Killian
A memorial service will be celebrated at Somerset Hills Lutheran Church, at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 5.
