Obituary for Pauline Wolfe Scholl

Mrs. Pauline (Wolfe) Scholl of Hillside NJ passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday May 11th, 2018 at Brandywine Assisted Living in Watchung, NJ. She had many roles in her 98 healthy years as a loving Wife, Sister, Mother, Grand mother, Great Grandmother, Aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur, sisters Anna, Caroline and Jennie and her Grandson Craig. Pauline is survived by her sons Arthur (Pauline) and Robert (Kaye) ; daughter Christine Ahern (Tom); and brothers Alex and Charlie as well as seven grandchildren and eleven great grand children. In high school Pauline was voted "Prettiest Girl in Senior Class" but that is a small picture of the beauty she held. She was a portrait of grace and dignity all while demonstrating strength as the matriarch of our family. At her home in Hillside she was known for having a green thumb in her garden and talents with baking including family favorites stuffed cabbage and apple pie. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, and cross stitch as well as being a faithful member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Hillside where she enjoyed Bible study and teaching Sunday school. Pauline was always there to lend an ear to friends and family and we will miss her kind and generous spirit. She lived a long and healthy life and it is a blessing to have had her in our lives. Please come share your memories and help us to celebrate her life. Family and friends are welcome to attend the wake on Monday, May 14 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Valley Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements, 1012 Valley Rd, Gillette, (908) 647-1603. Her funeral will be held at Valley Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday May 15th at 10am.
