William "Uncle Bill" W. Zilka died Thursday October 23, 2014 at The Chelsea at Warren Senior Living Home in Warren, NJ. He was 97.
Known by all as the loving, caring and cherished "Uncle Bill", he was born in Newark, NJ on October 12, 1917 a son to the late Suzanna (Marshalka) and Paul Zilka. One of eight children he lived in Newark and Union, NJ before moving to Stirling 6 years ago.
He was a graduate of South Side High School in Newark, NJ. He served in the Army during WWII.
He worked as an Office Manager for Weston Electronics in Elizabeth for many years before retiring.
Bill was predeceased by his siblings, John, Paul, Louis. Emily, Anna, Celia and Suzanna.
He is survived by many beloved and cherished, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday October 27, 2014 9:00 AM from the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Stirling. Interment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 at the Funeral Home.
