Obituary for Albert "Albie" Ostermann

Albert "Albie" Ostermann died on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at his home in Perkasie, PA with his family by his side. He was 71.

Albie was born in Manhattan, NY a son of the late Lillian (Engel) and Albert Ostermann. He was a lifetime resident of Ridgewood, Queens before moving to Perkasie, PA 8 years ago.

He was a member of St. Aloysius Church RC in Queens, NY .

He was employed as a Sanitation Worker at NYC Department of Sanitation in Manhattan, NY for 21 years before retiring in 1995. Albie never missed a day of work and received a Perfect Attendance Award.

He was an avid freshwater fisherman and loved to drag race his 442 Oldsmobile. He was a die hard NY Rangers and Yankee fan, loved Italian food and his job, but above all loved his family.

He was the husband of Florence T (Ruvola) Ostermann.

Albert is survived by two daughters, Laurie A. Haiken, wife of Laurence Haiken and Tara J. Ostermann Krimmel, wife of James B. Krimmel, his sister, Helen Flack; his brother, Walter J Ostermann and 2 grandchildren, Hunter Albert and Taylor Ann Yankelevich. He was preceded in death by his brother George Ostermann

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM. on Wednesday, January 28th, 2015 at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ. Prayers will be shared at 8:30 PM at the funeral home.

There will be a Chapel Service on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Somerset Hills Crematory in Basking Ridge, NJ at 10:00 AM.
