Obituary for Elaine M Jeffers (Jakubas)

Elaine M. Jeffers (Jakubas) MSN, RN, LNC, CCM, CDP, C-AL, of Bridgewater, NJ passed away comfortably in her home, surrounded by family on Friday May 18TH, 2018. Elaine is survived by her husband of 36 years, Dennis; two sons Dennis Jr. (Erica) and Leyland; grandson Carter; brothers John and Bernard (Khalida); sisters Deidre (Victor) and Kathleen; and also 3 nieces, 4 nephews and many cousins. Elaine was born in Jersey City, NJ and moved to Long Hill in 1986, where she raised a family and lived for 30 years until recently moving to Bridgewater.
She held many positions in the healthcare industry including President of the American Assisted Living Nurses Association, volunteer for the Long Hill Board of Health, Vice President of Health Services for The Chelsea Senior Living and most recently Regional Director of Healthcare for Ultimate Care Assisted Living Management, LLC.
Elaine was known for always trying to make someone’s tomorrow better. Whether it was mentoring a young nurse, helping a resident get through their day to day or just giving a family member or friend a loving confidence boost. Elaine touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be Sunday 3 - 7 PM at the Valley Memorial Funeral Home 1012 Valley Rd., Gillette, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul RC Church in Stirling. Disposition will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CJD Foundation in Elaine’s name at www.cjdfoundation.org/donate
