My heart and my prayers go out to Richie's family. His sister, Alice, and I have known each other since high school, so I've known Richie for many years. We didn't see him often except for holidays or summer get-togethers, but even though months would pass between, I found it so easy to talk to him and catch up. He loved to spend time with his family - I think he especially enjoyed playing with his nieces. Whenever we'd get together with Doug and Alice, Richie would talk with the adults for awhile, but it wasn't long before he was somewhere hanging out with the kids, doing whatever they wanted him to do. He had such a quiet spirit about him. He had one of kindest souls of anyone I've ever known. Be at peace Richie. "The Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
